Slater Heelis smashes charity target
A TEAM FROM LEADING MANCHESTER LAW FIRM, Slater Heelis LLP has completed a 1,000-mile cycle challenge and raised over £20,000 for charity.
Over the last three months the four-strong team of Chris Bishop, Daniel Wise, David Rowlands and Jay Lafinhan have collectively covered the impressive distance to support charities in the UK and abroad.
The final stage of the challenge was a 50-mile group ride from the firm’s Sale office to its new partner campus, Sci-Tech Daresbury near Warrington.
The group has raised funds for a number of charities including the British Heart Foundation, Regain Sports Charity, Helping Schools in Uganda (HUGS) and Act4Africa, a health and education charity.
Chris Bishop, managing partner at Slater Heelis, said:
“We have a number of keen cyclists in the firm and we realised that we could work together to raise some vital funds for charities that are close to all our hearts.
“The support and donations we have received from family, friends and all our colleagues and clients at Slater Heelis has been overwhelming. Although it’s been tough, we all enjoyed taking part and are already planning our next challenge!”
Chris cycled from both Manchester to Birmingham and Anglesey to Stockport, David completed a group ride covering 360 miles across Ireland, Jay undertook a night Sky Ride from Blackpool to Manchester totaling 125 miles and Daniel completed the grueling 100-mile Road Race route followed by athletes in the 2012 London Olympics.
Slater Heelis LLP is a full-service law firm with offices in Sale, Timperley and Manchester city centre.
