ISBJÖRN of Sweden appoints East River PR
Premium outdoor children’s clothing and accessories manufacturer, ISBJÖRN of Sweden, has appointed East River PR, based in Toffee Factory in Ouseburn, to handle its public relations for the UK market.
This is another international win for the north-east communications agency, set up by PR consultant Sue Reay back in 2009. East River also handles PR for other overseas’ clients including US based Hormel Foods Corporation and PrimaLoft Inc.
ISBJÖRN of Sweden was started 10 years ago by Maria Frykman Forsberg and Camilla Schmidt with the goal of producing technical and hardwearing, yet comfortable, outdoor garments for children aged 0 to 14 years, while at the same time protecting the environment.
The brand has grown significantly over the years and now distributes to more than 10 countries in Europe and Asia. UK retailers currently selling the ISBJÖRN of Sweden ranges include Snow+Rock, plus many independents including Altimus. East River PR will focus on increasing brand and product awareness in the UK, which will help to grow retail distribution and drive sales of its products, which range from award winning snow suits and jackets to accessories including hats and backpacks.
East River PR has extensive outdoor industry and lifestyle consumer experience and currently handles PR for clients such as PrimaLoft, Bridgedale and BEET IT Sport. The company also specialises in food and drink PR and clients in this sector include SPAM® Chopped Pork and Ham, SKIPPY® Peanut Butter and James White Drinks.
Maria Frykman Forsberg, CEO of ISBJÖRN of Sweden, commented: “Following a thorough pitch process we appointed East River PR as they fully grasped our brand objectives and direction, producing a realistic strategy to grow our brand in the UK.
“The team has a proven track record in the outdoor industry, as well as excellent relationships with the wider consumer media and this will be a priority for the ISBJÖRN of Sweden brand. Focusing on our latest product developments, East River will clearly communicate our brand ethos and passion for promoting freedom in the outdoors for children of all ages.”
