Charity of the year winner announced
Yeovil charity The Hub has been announced as Charity of the Year 2016 at the Somerset Business Awards held last week.
Clarke Willmott LLP, a firm of solicitors based in Taunton, was the sponsor of the Charity of the Year category. The firm was impressed by the vital work The Hub does, providing skills and development opportunities for young people and adults with additional support needs.
Clive Tuck, CEO at The Hub, Yeovil, commented: “The Hub is delighted to be Charity of the Year 2016 and to be recognised for our work with vulnerable people in our local communities. We aim to build on this success and work more closely with the business community to develop new pathways into employment and to support active citizenship for all our trainees.”
Greg Saunders, Partner at Clarke Willmott, said: “Clarke Willmott is proud to be part of the Somerset Business Awards which are organised by the Somerset Chamber of Commerce. The standard of all the entries was very high this year and it was really difficult to select a winner from such a strong group of nominations. Congratulations to The Hub, Yeovil, on both their invaluable work and their win.”
The category runners-up were Secret World Wildlife Rescue, an animal rescue charity based in Highbridge, and We Hear You, a counselling service for those affected by cancer.
