Taylor&Emmet transforms commercial property team
Taylor&Emmet LLP is expanding the legal services it offers to commercial land and property owners in Sheffield and North Derbyshire, with two key partner appointments.
The firm is welcoming Alastair Reid and George Thomson to its Sheffield and Bakewell offices respectively, to grow and enhance its reputation for commercial property advice.
Experienced industry specialist, Alastair Reid, joins Taylor&Emmet from Hill Dickinson, where he was head of the Sheffield office, before moving to Manchester following the firm’s restructuring in 2014. He handles all types of matters, from development work to social housing.
Alastair said: “I have admired Taylor&Emmet for some time – it is a solid practice with strong Sheffield roots and I’m very happy to be back in my home city. I look forward to helping to grow the commercial property department, extending our reputation and building on the range of skills we offer to new and existing clients.”
George Thomson will be bringing his broad skill set to Taylor&Emmet’s Bakewell office and will be responsible for developing the firm’s services among rural clients and local businesses. Having worked previously as a director of BRM Solicitors in Chesterfield, he has a wealth of expertise, particularly in agricultural matters and commercial leases for the retail and industrial sectors.
Richard Kay, Taylor&Emmet’s head of commercial property, said: “These two senior appointments are a huge boost to our team and the wider business legal services department. Alastair and George have excellent contacts and a depth of knowledge that can be applied across the spectrum of commercial property work. Both are already making a significant contribution to our success and will have a crucial role to play in consolidating our standing across the region.”
