Using digital technology to grow your business, with global entrepreneur Mike Jones
Mike Jones will be the keynote speaker at the North East Local Enterprise Partnership’s ‘Grow your business using digital technology’ workshop, on 24 November. Mike started his first business aged 50, after leaving his lucrative role as MD of the independent BT Local Business Channel. He now has a number of business interests from technology to global event management (especially F1 hospitality).
Mike will bring his experience and advice on how businesses can adapt to the fast-moving world of digital technology and its application.
“When I formed my first business, I started out with only a mobile phone,” Mike commented. “Since then, I’ve built companies that trade and involve travel across the globe and rely on connectivity to enable me to do business wherever I am. I know that one of the key concerns that business owners have is when to adopt new technologies; as they change so rapidly.”
At the event, Mike will guide businesses through the seemingly complicated world of digital disruption, and will give tangible advice that businesses can use when considering whether to adopt new technologies.
Mike added, “The key things a business needs to consider are who its customers are, what sort of connectivity they need, how they can foster collaboration among their team, and – ultimately – how all of these things will impact on customer service.
“The answer is not to do nothing – you’ll end up miles behind – but by considering these factors now, and by engaging with a partner than can help you early, you can see real results in your business.”
The ‘Grow your business using digital technology’ workshop will focus on tactics that business-owners can use to implement digital technologies within their business. It also features speakers from BT, Uber and Ammar Mirza, from the SME Centre for Excellence.
