‘Elfy’ run up to Christmas at intu Metrocentre
The patter of thousands of spritely feet is soon to be heard in the malls of intu Metrocentre as registration is now open for the third annual Elf Run.
The unique 1km indoor family fun run will take place on Sunday 11 December and eager elves will be getting into the festive spirit, helping Santa to deliver presents and raising funds for local children’s charities.
Entry to the fun run costs £10 per child, plus a small processing fee, and includes an elf hat and t-shirt, an ‘official helper’ certificate from Santa and a shiny runner’s medal. Adults can accompany their child on the run for free or pay £15 to join in the festive fun with their own elf costume, medal and goodie bag.
As well as raising funds for a charity close to their heart, Santa’s little helpers also embody the true spirit of Christmas by bringing unwrapped presents for Santa to distribute to children and families who need them most this Christmas.
Places are limited so head to the Elf Run website to avoid disappointment.
Helen Atkinson, marketing manager at intu Metrocentre, said:
“The Elf Run has become a real highlight of our festive calendar and this year we’re hoping to celebrate intu Metrocentre’s 30th birthday in style by breaking the world record for the largest gathering of elves in one place. We’re sure that the boys and girls of the north east are up to the challenge!
The Elf Run raises vital funds for children’s charities and is always a magical experience for everyone who takes part – full of fun and laughter. It’s also a brilliant way of making fitness fun for children and encouraging them to get active and ‘elfy’ this festive season.“
