Jones Bros on the ball with football sponsorship

North Wales family firm Jones Bros is on the ball after sponsoring a junior football team.

Amlwch Town FC Juniors Under 14’s have a new home kit, thanks to a £390 donation from Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK.

The Anglesey club is the third football club to win the support of Jones Bros recently, with Bala Town FC and Caernarfon FC also benefiting from sponsorship.

The Amlwch Town Juniors under 14’s have a squad of 20 players and came second in the Anglesey junior football league and runners up in the Memorial Shield competition last season.

Made up mainly of players from Amlwch and surrounding area, the team competes in the Anglesey Juniors League, and along the North Wales coast in cup competitions.

Wyn Thomas, Under 14’s manager, said: “We are a non-profit making football club and all money raised from subs go towards the running of the club. The coaches involved give their time free of charge for the development of the children.

“Most of the kids have been with us from the age of seven and are improving every season, not only in their football but in their behaviour and social skills.

“Amlwch is an under privileged area and some of the parents cannot afford to pay for the items needed. We are very grateful to Jones Bros for sponsoring our home kit and hopefully, we will do them proud.”

Bryn Williams of Ruthin-based Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, said: “As a family firm that has employees who live across North Wales, we are always keen to support organisations and clubs that work tirelessly across the region for the benefit of our young people.”

Founded in the 1950s and employing almost 350 people, Jones Bros has grown rapidly in the last decade. It is currently working on contracts in various sectors including the construction of waste management facilities, highways, flood and marine defence and renewable energy projects around the UK.
