Showhome opens at former hospital site
A leading housebuilder has opened the doors to its showhome in the former grounds of Pontefract Hospital.
Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire began construction on its Friarwood Park development in the summer and is expecting to hand over the keys to its first customer in time for Christmas.
Simon Whalley, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “Opening a new showhome is always an exciting milestone as it really helps customers to visualise themselves living there.
“The development is in such a central and desirable location to the town centre as well as its being in easy access to the M62 and A1(M), so we are not surprised by the high levels of interest we are receiving.”
Persimmon Homes is transforming the former hospital site and is planning to build in the region of 124 homes which will feature a mix of two, three and four-bedroom house types.
The three-bedroom ‘Hatfield’ showhome provides an insight into Persimmon’s property styles and finishes. The attractive detached home features a lounge to the front and a spacious kitchen and dining area with patio doors to the garden, ideal for entertaining. Upstairs the master bedroom comes with an en-suite plus a further two bedrooms and family bathroom.
Schemes are also available to help buyers make the move to their dream home, including the Government-backed Help to Buy and Persimmon’s Part Exchange and Home Change packages.
Simon added: “Our sales advisors can explain the various buying options to help customers find the best scheme for their individual circumstances, from a first time buyer just beginning on the property ladder to customers with an existing property to sell.
“We can also provide information on council tax banding, the properties’ energy efficiencies, warranty cover and local facilities, such as schooling.
“Persimmon has a strong reputation for delivering quality, affordable homes and Friarwood Park delivers just that.”
Properties prices at Friarwood Park start from £129,950. For more information visit www.persimmonhomes.com.
