Flower business Clog Wholesale to launch at ‘key employment site’ in Salford

International flower and plant distribution firm Clog Flower Wholesale Limited is set to establish a new base in Salford.

The 20,000 sq ft unit on building firm Barnfield Construction’s 11.4-acre Evolution scheme at Agecroft Commerce Park in Salford has been handed over to Rawtenstall-based property developer Alden Green, which subsequently pre-let the space to Clog Flower.

The flower company, a subsidiary of Dutch firm CJ Vianen Flowerexport BV, has taken a 10-year lease on the property. The new base is more than double the size of its former premises at Wardley Industrial Estate in Manchester.

Alden Green Commercial Property director Michael Solomon said: “Both myself and my fellow director, Mark Solomon, are delighted with our new unit.

“We have enjoyed working with all of the Barnfield team and in particular John Parkinson, Contracts Manager and John Cotterill, Site Manager on the ground at Evolution.”

He added: “So not only have we got a quality unit the whole experience was a pleasure and made as easy as possible. We’re looking forward to working with you again in the near future.”

Paul Nolan, director of commercial property agents Nolan Redshaw, which acted for Alden Green, commented: “This is an excellent location and a brand new, top quality building, we knew it would let quickly and we had been speaking to Clog Wholesale from commencement on site. We are all delighted with the outcome.”

Barnfield Construction’s Evolution industrial site is now offering three additional development plots, where units can range from 10,000 sq ft to 100,000 sq ft on a leasehold or freehold basis.

The Evolution scheme was acquired from the Homes and Communities Agency in 2015.

Tracy Clavell-Bate, Barnfield Construction’s head of development, said: “This is a key employment site for Salford and we are delighted to have launched the site with such proactive landlords as the first purchasers.”
