HURST football tournament raises £1,700 for Seashell Trust
Private banking and wealth management firm Brown Shipley triumphed at HURST’s annual charity five-a-side football tournament for the second year in a row.
Fifteen teams took part in the sixth annual competition, which was held at the Lucozade Powerleague Trafford Soccerdome.
The tournament attracted entrants from professional services firms as well as a variety of business sectors, including recruitment and logistics. Group stages were followed by knock-out rounds.
Brown Shipley, who beat corporate recovery and insolvency specialists Leonard Curtis in the 2015 final, overcame vehicle finance company Zuto 2-0 in this year’s showdown, with star man Matt Dodwell being named player of the tournament.
A total of £1,700 was raised for Seashell Trust in Cheadle Hulme, which is HURST’s charity of the year.
Seashell Trust provides education, sports and leisure activities and residential care for children and young people aged 2-23 who have profound physical and learning disabilities, deafness, blindness and autism.
Ryan Niblock, of HURST Corporate Finance, organised the event.
He said: “This year’s tournament was another great success in raising money for a great cause while also providing an opportunity for business networking.”
