MP’s praise for Barratt Homes
Local MP Ian Liddell-Grainger has been out in his constituency to see one of the region’s leading new homes developments.
The conservative politician visited Phoenix, the Barratt Homes development in Bridgwater where he met the site manager working on the new community and some of the first residents to move into their homes.
Tony Palmer, construction director at Barratt Homes said it was a great opportunity to demonstrate how the housebuilder is playing an active role in creating new homes in the region, boosting employment and making a substantial contribution to the local economy.
“We always welcome the opportunity to showcase our five star quality and Phoenix is a great example of how Barratt Homes is building some of the finest homes in the area,’’ said Tony.
“The MP’s visit to the development reinforces the importance of housebuilding to Somerset’s economy. It’s important for housebuilders to work closely with the government for the benefit of local communities.” he added.
Ian Liddell-Grainger, the MP for Bridgwater and West Somerset said: “I was delighted to visit Barratt’s Phoenix site in Bridgwater to see some of the properties being built by them to help meet the housing needs of local people and to meet their local representatives and representatives of the NHBC. Bridgwater as a town is growing rapidly and going from strength to strength and it is good to see housing developers responding to local needs.”
