Application for biggest 'Santa, Stop Here' Sign!
CHILL FACTORE APPROACHES TRAFFORD COUNCIL TO INSTALL 180M
SANTA STOP SIGN ON ITS ROOF
Premier leisure attraction and one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings, Chill Factore has approached Trafford Council to propose installing a 180m x 30m Santa Stop sign on its roof to herald the arrival of Santa Claus to his Grotto at Chill Factore each year.
Home to the longest indoor real snow slope in the country, Chill Factore’s iconic sloping building at the Trafford Quays Leisure Village in Manchester is seen by tens of thousands of passers-by each day.
“We think the size and incline of our sloping roof would make the perfect runway for Mr Claus to land his sleigh,” Morwenna Angove, CEO at Chill Factore, explains. “Installing a giant Santa Stop sign would create an amazing spectacle to spread festive cheer and welcome Santa to his Grotto each year and be clearly visible to passing sleighs, reindeer and elves.”
Councillor Sean Anstee, Leader of Trafford Council, adds: “The Trafford Council Planning team are pleased to work alongside Santa Claus and the Chill Factore to help Santa arrive safely in Trafford. We understand that this time of year is extremely busy for Mr Claus, and our staff are working around the clock to ensure the structure gets approved (and that they don’t end up on the naughty list).
“We would like to remind Mr Claus that all reindeers, even magical ones, are subject to special Elf and Safety regulations, and invite him to join us at the Terrace at Trafford Town Hall for a mince pie and carrot to discuss.”
Santa’s Grotto at Chill Factore is the only Grotto in the country on real snow, surrounded by sparkling trees, glistening lights and chattering elves, and is open right up until Christmas Eve. All of Santa’s guests will receive a special gift before the big day and access to snow fun in Mini Moose Land or the Snow Park. For more information, please visit www.chillfactore.com.
