BAM confirmed for £25m multi-faith school in West London

BAM Design and BAM Construction have been appointed to design and build a new £25m multi-faith school in London.

The Nishkam School building in Hounslow, which is scheduled for an Autumn 2017 opening, will provide a permanent home for the school which is currently based out of an office block in Isleworth.

Providing places for 1400 pupils, the all-through school and sixth form will be housed over two and three storey, along with a four-court sports hall, two dining halls and main assembly hall.

Plans also include a central faith area and multi-use games area and grass pitches, and a solar array on the roof of the structure to ensure the building meets the requirements of the London Plan.

Mick Kelly, BAM’s Construction Director, commented: “We know that we’ll need to build this scheme considerately and sensitively and that success hinges on the quality of our partnership with the Nishkam team.

“We’re a collaborative company by nature and we will work very diligently to make this an important addition to the educational needs of the area and providing a special place for young people to learn and develop.”
