Local ICT business nominated for Top Industry Award
North East-based information and communication technology company, ConquerMaths, who specialise in bespoke online maths tuition to learners of all ages from around the world, has been nominated for a prestigious and internationally renowned BETT Award (British Educational Training and Technology Award).
The growing education IT business, which employs eleven people in Newcastle upon Tyne has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Education Support Resource for Parents / Home Learning’ category. The nomination recognises ConquerMaths’ expertise in the home-schooling market, as well as in maths education provision. The award ceremony takes place in London on 25 January 2017.
The online maths tuition system developed by ConquerMaths, comprises over one thousand concise five-minute tutorials, enabling learners to diagnose their individual maths problems using automatically generated questions that adjust to students’ ability. The programme highlights gaps in knowledge and provides targeted lessons to correct problems and then tests students, to ensure they have a more solid understanding. The nomination also recognises the success rate of ConquerMaths’ online tuition, as government trials have proved it raises maths educational improvement by 54% over traditional methods.
Richard Hunter, managing director at ConquerMaths, said: “This internationally recognised award nomination puts our company ConquerMaths on a global playing field, highlighting our strengths and innovation in educational training and technology. It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, who strive to continue to develop the most innovative maths learning technology platforms.”
