Strategy shift delivers turnover growth for Manchester cloud company ANS Group

Cloud tech business ANS Group has seen its takings rise after shifting toward the delivery of higher margin managed services.

During the 12 months to March 31 2016, the Manchester-based company pulled in a turnover of £46.2m, up from £45.7m the year previous.

The firm’s adjusted EBITDA rose from £6.1m to £6.8m, placing its annualised EBITDA runrate stands in excess of £8m.

The company confirmed that its managed services and associated professional services offer now represents more than 80% of its overall gross profit.

Commenting on the results, ANS Group COO Paul Shannon said: “ANS is now positioned in the marketplace as a true cloud service provider offering both private and public cloud solutions and also the supporting connectivity.”

The 2015/16 year saw ANS land a string of new contract wins with a number of regional and national organisations, including the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen NHS Foundation Trust, the University of Nottingham and Odeon Cinemas.

Paul Sweeney, ANS’ CEO, said: “Looking ahead to 2017, we remain confident in our evolving cloud, enterprise network and managed services portfolios.

“We will continue to drive a visionary platform which adopts truly innovative technologies allowing for scale and growth. Our groundbreaking RAPID portfolio will see customers realise the value of their investment faster than ever before.”

He continued: “The sales pipeline is bearing out this strategy and a significant amount of our new business is what we consider new services and solutions. We look forward to announcing our half-year results in the coming weeks which a further positive step change across all areas of the business.”

In addition to its Manchester Science Park HQ, ANS Group operates from an office in central London.
