Absolute creates website for Newstar Garments Group
Preston-based Newstar Garments Group, which has been designing and manufacturing denim for major high street stores for over 30 years, has launched a brand new website, which was created by integrated creative agency Absolute.
Founded in 1985, Newstar had built a successful brand based on a reputation for producing quality products. With the decision to build its own purpose-built factory in Pakistan, Newstar took the decision to establish an online presence to help push the business further and, more specifically, to serve as a recruitment platform.
After a competitive pitch, Bolton-based Absolute was awarded the contract to design and build a website for Newstar, as well as carry out brand development and new photography.
The brand development saw the passion and energy of Newstar brought to life with the strapline ‘Denimheads, since 1985’, a bold typographic style and a colour palette complimentary to the products. Photography took place over two days, with a photo shoot at Newstar’s head office to capture the working environment, people and processes, and a second photo shoot at Absolute’s studios to put a creative spin on the products.
Designed and built in Absolute’s core CMS, the new website has been tailored to meet the needs of Newstar and enable the team to easily upload and update the content themselves. The site also integrates third party systems, such as Newstar’s careers portal, and uses a mobile-first approach to ensure users get the same experience wherever and however they access the site.
Chris Hodgen, managing director of Absolute, said: “Throughout this project our main aim has been to showcase Newstar’s ethos, its people, passion and great environment to potential new recruits, customers and partners. We always work closely with our clients to get a full understanding of their requirements, which helps us to shape our designs to meet their exact needs. The new website is easy to use and modern, and we’ve worked carefully to ensure the content and user experience engages effectively with Newstar’s target audiences.”
Sarah Ainscough from Newstar Garments Group, said: “Right from the start, Absolute took the time and effort to really get under the skin of our business. It was thanks to their understanding of our heritage and ethos that enabled them to create a new website for us which truly reflects what our brand is all about. The team has great creativity and technical ability – a vital combination which has resulted in a website that looks great, is user friendly, works well across all devices and is simple for us to update and maintain.”
