Once in a decade opportunity as Grand Tier box comes to market at Royal Albert Hall

Deep-pocketed classical music fans now have the chance to take their seat at some of the UK’s most renowned cultural events just a stone’s throw from Her Majesty the Queen, after a top-end box has come to market at the Royal Albert Hall.

The twelve-seat Grand Tier box is the first such box to become available in nearly a decade and is on the market for offers in excess of £2.5m.

Housed within the Grade I listed Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington, the box is located on the same level as the Royal Box, meaning the owner will be seated in close proximity to the monarchy for events such as the BBC Proms and the Royal Variety Performance.

According to Harrods Estates, who have been charged with marketing the plush seats, boxes in the Grand Tier only increase in value over the years, making them a potential investment opportunity for shrewd investors.

Nicholas Shaw, Sales Manager of Harrods Estates Kensington said that the Grand Tier box was a ‘real generational purchase’ and an ideal purchase for art lovers.

He said: “The box is ideal for entertaining, with its twelve seats, and provides enviable views over the main stage and auditorium. We have witnessed these boxes sell previously to the true lovers of the arts and this time should be no different. I anticipate this will sell to a British investor.”

The purchaser will also receive automatic membership to the Corporation of the Halls of Arts and Science, an organisation dating back to the 1860s which helps to govern the historic music venue, and will be be responsible for duties such as electing the Council and the Hall’s President.

Privately owned seats total 1276 at the Royal Albert Hall and have the same 999 year lease period as the building itself, meaning the Grand Tier box currently on the market has 849 years remaining on its lease.
