Thomson Ecology rolls out ROLO training across SE
Leading independent UK ecology consultants Thomson Ecology has become one of only a handful of accredited ROLO trainers based in the South East. The ROLO (Register of Land-Based Operatives) Health Safety and Environmental Awareness Course has been designed to raise the standards of health and safety and reduce the risks and accidents throughout land-based sectors.
The scheme is administered by the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and is a pre-requisite for anyone applying for a Land-based Industry Skills Scheme (LISS) and Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card to cover them for the following activities:
· ecology
· environmental management
· horticulture
· landscape construction
· grounds maintenance (including pesticide spraying)
· arboriculture
Estelle Spencer from Thomson Ecology who administers the scheme from Thomson Ecology said:
“We are delighted to have achieved accreditation to become one of only two trainers able to provide ROLO training in Surrey. The scheme is vitally important for ecology industry professionals and many related industries, and is designed to ensure that the environments in which we operate are safe. We are now running courses from our head office in Guildford, Surrey and we can provide location-based training if we have a sufficient group of people involved.”
Successful candidates will receive ROLO certificates produced by the British Association of Landscape Industries.
