Heartfelt Giving from Customers at Castlegate
THE CUSTOM of giving from customers was truly heartfelt with almost £6000 raised for local charities in the weeks leading up to Christmas at Castlegate.
The generous giving, at the Stockton-based shopping centre, came in the form of donations to visit Santa in his Grotto raising £3568 for Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.
A further £2400 was donated to the Butterwick Hospice’s Tree of Remembrance, bringing the grand total raised at Castlegate in less than four weeks to a massive £5968.
Acting Centre Manager, Tracey Surtees, said of customer’s kindness: “As a shopping centre we know first-hand that Christmas is a time of year when most families will have to shop within limited budgets but our customers showed exceptional good will for others.
“An astounding sum of money has been raised by local people, for local people and we are exceptionally grateful to all those who donated.”
