Deliveroo’s HQ move to create 300 new tech jobs
On-demand delivery business Deliveroo is to create 300 new tech roles as part of its move to new headquarters in the City of London.
Announced back in October last year, the startup is to move into new 51,500 sq ft premises at Cannon Bridge House after outgrowing its current home at the Heal’s Building in Fitzrova.
Now the London-headquartered startup has revealed that the move will also entail the creation of around 300 new software and hardware engineering roles as it looks to innovate its logistics operations, significantly swelling its tech ranks which currently stands at around 125 roles.
The move and subsequent expansion at Deliveroo, which spent much of last year embroiled in controversy over pay arrangements with staff, comes after the firm raised a massive $275m Series E round last summer.
Chief Executive Officer, Will Shu commented: “London is where I founded this company and it’s from our headquarters here that we export our British-born technology around the world.
“That’s why we’re now on the lookout for over 300 people to join our engineering team. When so many of the success stories in the on-demand economy have been grown from America, I am particularly proud to be doing this here in Britain.”
