Power engineering firm plans continued expansion after move to new Chester premises
A specialist power engineering firm is aiming to double its workforce after relocating to new Chester premises.
Horan Power Engineering outgrew its previous offices, with the team expanding quickly from two to five members of staff. A sixth employee is due to start soon.
The company provides engineering services throughout the planning, design, construction, and operation phases of major electrical projects including wind farms, solar farms, and overhead lines and underground cables.
The company, founded in 2006, has moved to the Honeycomb Chester business community, on the Chester Business Park, in a deal brokered by commercial property agents Beresford Adams Commercial.
And managing director Richard Horan says the move couldn’t have come at a better time.
“As we continued to grow it became apparent that our old offices were too small,” he said.
“Our latest recruit joined six months ago and it was the push we needed to find bigger premises.
“And it’s a good job we did, as we have someone else joining us very shortly and there simply wouldn’t have been the room to accommodate them.
“We have had a very successful three-year period and have worked on some exciting projects.
“Relocating to the Honeycomb Chester business community signals the start of a new chapter for Horan Engineering, and our goal is to double in size over the next 24 months.”
The new 1,500sq ft office is open plan and Horan Engineering has been given free rein to customise the space as it wishes.
Tom Creer, director at Beresford Adams Commercial, said: “An increasing number of businesses are outgrowing their offices and looking for suitable solutions.
“A common requirement from companies seeking new or additional premises is the ability to custom design the layout and interior.
“The ability to provide a turnkey solution is one of the key assets of Honeycomb Chester, which has been extremely popular since it opened two years ago.
“Out of a total of 40,000sq ft over 4 buildings, there now remains only 10,500sq ft, which can be delivered as two suites or further subdivided to suit occupiers.”
Horan Engineering is the eighth tenant at the development, joining businesses including recruitment agency Matt Burton Associates, jewellery manufacturer ChloBo, and investment management firm Deepbridge Capital.
As well as attractive packages, fit-out works can be incorporated within leasehold deals.
Beresford Adams Commercial and Legat Owen act jointly as marketing agents on the scheme.
