Pharma company Cyprotex moves entire UK operation to Alderley Park
German drug developer Evotec AG has today (January 26) announced that its Cyprotex business has completed the relocation of its UK team to Alderley Park, Cheshire.
The move, Evotec said, will enable Cyprotex’s continued business growth by consolidating its UK operations into a single facility.
Spanning almost 25,000 sq ft, the new office and lab space will accommodate all 106 of the pharma company’s current UK workforce.
Cyprotex was previously based in nearby Macclesfield.
The Alderley Park scientific hub forms part of Manchester Science Partnerships and today is home to more than 150 companies working in the biotech and life science sectors.
Evotec’s chief operating officer, Dr Mario Polywka, said: “Moving to Alderley Park allows for the expansion and consolidation of Cyprotex’ UK operations into a first-class scientific facility, which of course will serve to benefit our client base.
“This is an important step in the integration of Cyprotex into the Evotec Group, which is proceeding according to our plans.”
Alderley Park’s managing director, Dr Chris Doherty, commented: “Alderley Park is renowned for its world-class life science facilities and collaborative business environment and it is therefore great news that this ambitious and innovative international business has chosen to locate its new UK site here.
“To facilitate growth of the UK business, Cyprotex has, over recent years, expanded into laboratories on the Alderley Park site.”
He continued: “We are now delighted to welcome the rest of Cyprotex’ UK team to the expanding Alderley Park community and look forward to supporting their plans to grow over the coming months and years.”
