Young Entrepreneurs in Property to establish Northern branch in Manchester

London- and Cambridge-based networking organisation Young Entrepreneurs in Property (YEP) is expanding North.

As part of plans to grow both nationally and internationally, the group hopes to attract rising stars and future property industry leaders of the North with its new Manchester branch.

Launching YEP in the city in February, CEO Johnny Clayton said the organisation is about “building relationships, learning new skills and sharing ideas in a fun and friendly environment”.

Johnny explained: “YEP is run by property professionals for property professionals and is made up of a diverse group of people from a broad spectrum of the industry.

“Our organisation is a forum for future leaders and gives members a real voice. Manchester is a vibrant city with a thriving property industry so it’s appropriate that YEP has a strong presence here.”

He added: “Interest in a Manchester YEP group grew in the second half of last year so we have decided to officially launch it.”

According to YEP committee member Ged McNicholl, property is a key industry “not just for Manchester, but for the whole country”.

Ged, the regional director of project and programme management consultancy Faithful+Gould, commented: “I would encourage young professionals in property to join the group.

“It’s fun and a great opportunity to build a strong network.”

Founded in 2002, today YEP has more than 2,000 members. The organisation’s Manchester committee comprises representatives from a number of property-related areas, including development, surveying, engineering, project management and tax.

Representatives of industry firms such as Quinta Group, Solar Properties, Indigo Planning, Turner & Townsend, Pinsent Masons and ICENI Projects among others are involved.

The official YEP Manchester launch will take place on February 23 at Tattu, Spinningfields.
