Crowne Plaza Leeds hotel set to check in a £4m revamp
Works is set to commence on a £4m refurbishment at the Crowne Plaza Leeds hotel.
Located on Wellington Street, the hotel is set to be transformed over a four month period, starting on 29th January with the installation of new restaurant, bar and lounge on the ground floor.
The reception will also undergo a complete redesign, as well as the Headingley Suite conference room, the mezzanine level and the hotel’s renowned grand staircase.
In addition, all of the hotel’s bedrooms will also be refurbished, with the creation of new club rooms and suites planned, as well as the creation of a new Club Lounge which will offer exclusive guest privileges such as complimentary drinks and canapes, in the place of the current upstairs bar.
Lynda Coaley, general manager at the Crowne Plaza Leeds, said: “We’re really excited to be breathing new life into our hotel with this significant refurbishment project,
“We underwent a considerable amount of work this time last year, following the Boxing Day floods in 2015, but the majority of that work took place behind the scenes.
“The flood water had caused the most damage to our IT infrastructure, car parks and underground corridors, so in the first instance, we had to channel investment into those areas.
“This project is all about bringing the areas of the hotel that the guests reside and relax into life, creating new-look bedrooms and suites, as well as a new restaurant and bar area that will benefit not just our residents, but the people of Leeds, too.”
New facilities will also be introduced to the hotel as part of the refurbishment, including the Club Lounge, for guests staying in the new Club and Suite-level rooms, and a break-out area for meetings and events with its own function bar. All meeting rooms will also be upgraded with new audio visual equipment.
Lynda, added: “The renovation is going to completely transform our hotel and bring it up to date in every way, from contemporary design and layout features, to new technology designed to make our guests’ experiences even better.”
The refurbishment programme will be completed in phases, in order to minimise any possible disruption to guests. Work is expected to be finished in Spring 2017.
