Petro-Canada Lubricants partners with Porsche Club UK
Petro-Canada Lubricants and Porsche Club Motorsport has announced a partnership for 2017, which includes title sponsorship of the Club, Speed, and Hillclimb championships, in addition to Porsche Club GB’s Club Track Days.
Petro-Canada Lubricants will be the sole lubricant sponsor of the Championships, with branding featured on all championship race cars including bodywork logo placement, screen headers, the official Porsche Club GB motor transporter and the windscreen of the race centre.
The Porsche Club Motorsport Championships are popular fixtures on the UK motorsport calendar, with the season running from April to November. The Porsche Club Championship offers track racing at many of the UK’s major circuits, with seven double-header meetings including the Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone.
The Speed Championship is popular with new drivers seeking competition experience, with sprints at circuits including Brands Hatch and Goodwood, as well as classic hillclimb venues like Shelsley Walsh and Prescott.
The Hillclimb Championship offers Porsche drivers the opportunity to compete at the highest level of hillclimbs, with premier venues including Loton Park, Harewood, Wiscombe Park and Gurston Down.
Porsche Club Track Days have offered Porsche Club GB members the opportunity to drive their vehicles on some of the UK’s most popular circuits including Goodwood, Knockhill, and Castle Combe for more than 15 years. Petro-Canada Lubricant branding will be featured on Porsche Club Track Day crash helmets.
Porsche Club Motorsport is part of Porsche Club GB, the official, approved members’ club for Porsche owners. Petro-Canada Lubricants will join an exclusive list of carefully-selected partners who are equally passionate about the Porsche brand, including Pirelli and Silverstone Auctions.
“Porsche Club GB takes great pride in providing our Club members with a wide range of benefits and resources. We are very grateful for the generous support and ongoing commitment of our partners which allows us to do this. Petro-Canada Lubricants will be a real asset to the Porsche Club Motorsport family,” Steve Kevlin, Championship Co-ordinator, Porsche Club GB.
“With a global footprint and proven track to road excellence, Porsche and Petro-Canada Lubricants have a natural synergy and we are looking forward to building our relationship in 2017 and beyond,” said Brendan Daly, Chairman Motorsport, Director Porsche Club GB.
“Porsche is an exceptional brand with a well-deserved reputation for quality and we highly value our partnership. The UK is a core focus for Petro-Canada Lubricants and we are looking forward to working together to build on our aspirations,” commented Martin Wright, Managing Director, Petro-Canada Europe.
“Petro-Canada Lubricants and Porsche share common values of performance and technical excellence, and we are delighted to work closely with this supreme global brand over the next few years,” added Tony Weatherill, Global Marketing Director, Automotive and Transportation, Petro-Canada Lubricants.
The announcement was made at the annual Autosport International event held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, UK.
The new Petro-Canada Lubricants branding will be unveiled at the first Porsche Club Speed Championship round on 17th April at Croft, North Yorkshire.
