Clarke Willmott advices Amiri Construction on succession planning
The Southampton office of Clarke Willmott LLP has helped advise building contracting business Amiri Construction with a group reorganisation.
The deal included the introduction of a new shareholding and management team to complement the founding shareholder directors.
Richard Swain, Partner in the corporate team at Clarke Willmott, assisted with the succession planning deal which put in place a new group structure for the business to enable the introduction of the new management shareholders, and the ongoing operation of the business with the continuing executive team.
The new management structure sees Business Development Director Mark Vincent, Pre-construction Director Dave Lyster, Senior Estimator Andy Corry, Commercial Manager Dave Moore and Operations Director Martin Tidby all become shareholders.
Richard Swain of Clarke Willmott said: “This was a great transaction to work on and we’re pleased to have assisted Amiri Construction in a deal which will inevitably allow the business to thrive in the future. The deal means key members of staff have a greater role within the business and will deliver a gradual transition of leadership.
“Clarke Willmott has extensive experience in group reorganisations, investments and shareholder arrangements such as this, and we were happy to lend our experience and expertise to guide the client through the process to completion.”
Grahame Pettit, founder of Amiri Construction along with Kevin Lendon, said: “We are delighted to welcome five new shareholders to the company to help ensure continued prosperity in the years to come. This is an important development within Amiri and I am confident that existing and future clients will benefit from the structural changes we have made to the business.
“A transaction as vital as this to the future of the business had to be treated efficiently, effectively and without losing sight of the end goal. We were always confident that Richard and the team and Clarke Willmott were working with us to achieve the goal, whilst allowing us to concentrate on continuing to deliver excellent work for our clients.”
