Oak Furniture Land Macclesfield Store Valentine Cake Donation

OAK FURNITURE LAND MACCLESFIELD STORE CELEBRATED A MONTH OF SUCCESSFUL TRADING AND DONATED A 3FT MARBLE COLUMN CUPID CAKE TO THE MAYOR OF MACCLESFIELD

Kevin Leach, Oak Furniture Land Macclesfield store manager presented the Mayor of Macclesfield, Councillor Alift Harewood-Jones MBE with a 3ft marble column cupid cake as the store celebrated a month of successful trading since reopening after refurbishment. Oak Furniture Land commissioned local Gatley born Cake Artist, Rose Dummer and CakeBomb, famous for her life-size and realistic cakes to design the amazing romantic confectionery creation.

The refurbished store is located at Silk Retail Park, Hulley Road, SK10 2SF, boasts a mezzanine floor which along with the rest of the store had extensive works done to improve it, re-opened on Boxing Day. The refurbished store features the sofastore.com concession with all the latest sofa trends and over 75 different ranges of high quality sofas and over 3500 colour and size variations to choose from. There is an exclusive designed sofa to suit all tastes and budgets.

Oak Furniture Land, the UK’s largest retailer of solid hardwood furniture, commissioned the amazing confectionery creation, to celebrate a month of successful trading at the refurbished store and to support the Mayor’s Charity Ball. The romantic cake will take centre stage at the Mayor’s fundraising Valentine’s Charity Ball on Friday 17th February.

Kevin Leach, Store Manager of the Macclesfield Showroom says: “It was a pleasure to present the cake donation to the Mayor of Macclesfield. We wanted to show our appreciation to the people of Macclesfield by supporting a local cause in a different way. Our Macclesfield customers are important to us and the refurbished store carries an enhanced offering with all of our furniture ranges on display, which will give Macclesfield shoppers even more furniture choice. We know once customers shop with us they return time and time again, so we are looking forward to serving the community for many more years to come.”

The amazing cake sculpture was designed by the North West most famous cake artist, Rose Dummer of Rosie Cake Diva and CakeBomb. Rose is from Gatley, South Manchester and went to Manchester High School for girls is famous for her amazing life-size and realistic cake creations, including a 6ft grenadier guard created for Armistice Day.

Rose Dummer says: “For the Valentine’s Ball I wanted to create a statement piece that would bring some drama and romance to the Mayor’s Ball. It wasn’t an easy cake to make and it was even harder to transport! Hardly surprising as my sculpted Cupid is sitting on top of 7 tiers of rich fruit cake.”
