Special Valentine’s fundraising in St Johns Shopping Centre
Cupid is calling in the city today, as Liverpool shoppers will be treated to a one off Valentine’s Day performance from the Royal Court Theatre Choir in St Johns Shopping Centre.
On Tuesday February 14th, 35 members of the esteemed choir will take residence in St Johns from 4-5pm, where they will serenade shoppers with classic love songs like ‘You To Me Are Everything’ and ‘Help!’, to help raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Hopeless romantics buying last minute Valentine’s gifts will not only be treated to the starry-eyed recital, but will also have a chance to show some love to the city’s sick children and their families by giving a donation to Claire House.
This special performance has been arranged as part of St Johns’ ongoing plan to raise as much money as possible for Claire House Children’s Hospice, which helps seriously and terminally ill children live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life through specialist nursing care and emotional support.
Robert Bradley, St Johns centre manager, says; ‘Love is in the air at St Johns this Valentine’s Day. We’re hoping to inspire the love-sick of Liverpool to hit the high notes with their Valentine’s gifts this year, and we’re also confident that the choir will help to spread ‘that loving feeling’, as we ask shoppers to dig deep for our charity partner.
’The Claire House team does amazing work and makes such a huge difference to so many people during what is often the most difficult time of their life. This is a great opportunity for the people of Liverpool to support local talent and contribute to this wonderful cause. ’
Miriam Mussa, Community Education Manager for Royal Court Theatre, says; ‘We’re incredibly proud to be able to help raise money for a cause as important to Liverpool as Claire House. Music really does bring people from all walks of life together, and we hope our performance in St Johns encourages shoppers to show their support for incredible work carried out at Claire House Children’s Hospice.’
