Colonial-style cocktail bar and restaurant to open in Manchester next month

Bar operator Living Ventures is preparing to open its latest addition to Manchester’s booming leisure scene.

Grand Pacific, a 3,000 sq ft colonial-style bar and restaurant, will launch next month in the Grade II-listed Reform Club building at the top of King Street.

Living Ventures said the 120-cover venue will offer informal dining at lunchtime through to the evening on a menu that blends exotic flavours with English classics.

Each weekend, Grand Pacific will serve a Sunday lunch alongside live music performed by the Grand Pacific Palm Court Group.

The venue will also house a 25-seat late license Long Bar inspired by the interiors of Singapore’s famous Raffles Hotel.

Jeremy Roberts, CEO of Living Ventures, said: “We are delighted to bring this beautiful room back to life and echo its glorious past as the home of the historic Manchester Reform Club.

“Its heritage as a place to relax, eat and drink and just enjoy some of the pleasures of life simply oozes from the walls and it is our privilege and pleasure to let it continue to be what it was always meant to be.”

According to Living Ventures, interior designer Michelle Derbyshire has incorporated the original features of Manchester Reform Club – once home to one of the city’s first dining clubs – into Grand Pacific’s “tranquil, classic interior”.

The venue will open its doors on March 17.
