New Finance Director at Barratt Developments North East

Leading housebuilder, Barratt Developments North East, has announced the appointment of Carl Sobolewski as its new Finance Director following another record year for the five-star property developer. Previous Finance Director, Scott Martin, has taken up the role as the division’s Managing Director.

Having worked with Barratt Developments since 2007, most recently as Finance Director of Barratt Northampton, Carl, who is originally from Middlesbrough, is moving back to the North East to take up the position. Having started his career with the company after completing the Barratt graduate scheme, Carl has worked closely with the Divisional Finance teams of both the East and North Midlands during his decade at Barratt, bringing with him a vast wealth of experience to the North East division.

Commenting on his new role, Carl said: “I am very pleased to have been offered the positon as Finance Director in the North East. My wife and I were brought up here, and I have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to arise so that we can return to our roots and settle down near our families. The thing that I’m most excited about is being able to contribute to the local communities that I grew up, which are very close to my heart. I’m looking forward to furthering my career with Barratt, it is a fantastic company to work for and I will strive to uphold the successful sales that have been achieved this past year.”

Scott Martin, Managing Director of Barratt Developments North East, added: “After a hugely successful year, with record sales figures giving us an increase of more than 25% across the North East, I am confident that this growth will continue under Carl’s direction. He has achieved great things in his time with the company so far and I wish him all the best in his new position.”
