Wolff completes upmarket villa development at Hampstead Garden Suburb
Architectural practice, Wolff Architects, has completed extension work on a villa in a prestigious northwest London postcode despite the borough’s famously strict planning laws.
The North London firm was commissioned back in 2012 for the project to add an additional 2,250 sq ft to an upmarket villa-style property in Hampstead Garden Suburb, including the creation of side and rear extension and a large basement.
Adding the equivalent of an average three-bedroom luxury apartment to the 4,957 sq ft property, Wolff managed to seal coveted planning approval from Barnet Council despite the staunchly protective planning rules in the suburb designed to protect its twentieth century domestic architecture.
Nick Pritchett, Director of Wolff Architects, commented: “We were tasked by our client with creating a modern and high-grade family home and the results speak for themselves.
“Through the intelligent creation of additional space, we have created a prestigious property where our client can entertain, relax and, of course, raise a family.
“Obtaining planning permission was inevitably one of the project’s larger challenges. However, ultimately, through diligent planning and intense attention-to-detail – for which we are becoming known throughout London and beyond – we successfully demonstrated to Barnet Council that our development would be fully in keeping with the character of this charming and very special part of London.”
