Industry first app launches from tech collaboration between Leeds firms Sky Betting & Gaming and Bolser
Two Leeds-based businesses have launched a new app to the market following a seven-month long collaboration.
Sky Betting & Gaming and digital creative agency Bolser collaborated to create a new approach to HR onboarding that packages the entire experience into one app.
The betting and gaming operator has made significant investments in the latest technology to enhance its social recruiting. Just last month, the business launched a new employer brand and introduced the first ever virtual recruitment Chat Bot, fronted by Sky Sports Presenter, Jeff Stelling.
The new app is the next step in welcoming new starters that simplifies administrative tasks such as inputting full personal details, bank details and P45 documents with a photo scan functionality.
The entirely paperless experience maintains a flow of communication between the company and new starter, whilst also absorbing the user in the company culture and leading into early induction training.
Caroline Parkinson, Sky Betting and Gaming’s head of HR operations who commissioned the app, said: “We’re so fast-moving and our culture is so valued that it’s essential our people can make the most of what Sky Betting & Gaming has to offer from the get go.”
Stacey Gillingham, Sky Betting and Gaming’s HR onboarding executive, added: “A new role in a new company is an exciting time and we want the entire experience to reflect that so our colleagues are empowered to have the best possible impact on the business as quickly as possible.”
Ashley Bolser, managing director of Bolser, also commented: “This is a great example of local businesses in Leeds coming together to create a really different and exciting offer for talent in the city.
“We’ve seen our own turnover grow at around 50% year on year, we’ve moved from Yeadon to a city centre location and our clients are often looking for something that will make them stand out. We’re delivered that in a local partnership.”
Sky Betting & Gaming has achieved rapid growth in Leeds with revenues outpacing the market for the past five years. Headquartered in Leeds with a presence in Sheffield, London, Rome and Germany, the company now employs around 1000 people – 95% of them in Yorkshire.
Sky Betting & Gaming announced a further investment of £500k in 20 early careers opportunities for graduates this year and is the UK’s fourth largest online bookmaker operating five major products – Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Casino, Sky Poker, and Sky Bingo.
