Teesside based law firm has experienced rapid growth
A leading Teesside-based law firm has experienced its most rapid rate of growth since 2008 and is continuing to build on that in 2017.
Archers Law LLP saw a 20 per cent increase in turnover in its year end to April 2016 and is scheduled for another double digit increase this year.
The growth of the practice has been driven by a number of factors including improved market conditions, increased internal performance and strategic management. The last year has seen the recruitment of 12 high calibre team members, raising the number of employees to 55 in addition to seven Partners bringing the total headcount to 62.
The Stockton-based firm has seen strong growth throughout all its divisions. It boasts one of the largest private client teams in the Tees Valley, which includes eight solicitors, who together have a total of over 200 years’ legal experience. The private client team includes four STEP accredited solicitors. In addition, the firm’s residential property team has doubled in size to 11, after recruiting a specialist new build conveyancing team.
Managing Partner, Christopher Todd is pleased with the changes and progress the firm has made over the last couple of years. He said: “The delivery of our strategic business plan during 2016 has meant that we have focused specifically on activity that meets our commercial objectives.
“The entire Archers team has an absolute commitment to client care, which means that most of our business comes from word of mouth with increased recommendations from existing clients and professional contacts. We know our clients like what we do and how we do it.”
A great ambassador of outstanding client care is partner and head of business client services, David Adams who was awarded the title ‘Lawyer of the Year’ at the Northern Law Awards 2016, following his involvement in the firm’s drive to improved individual and collective performance management.
Under David’s leadership, 2016 saw the firm’s corporate team handle transactions with a total value in excess of £75 million. This has helped drive the corporate team to top tier status in the Legal 500 for Corporate and Commercial matters in the North. Tier one status is also recognised for the commercial property team.
David said: “I’m immensely proud of the growth that Archers has achieved over the last year and to win the award of Lawyer of the Year was a great achievement, however, I couldn’t have done it without the support of the excellent Archers team.
“We are also proud to be based in the Tees Valley and with our top tier status, we know we can compete with bigger firms from outside of the area. I am confident that we will achieve even stronger recognition in several service areas over years to come.”
Following a successful rebrand, the Teesside firm is preparing to further invest in its team with plans to appoint three new Solicitors in the forthcoming months and planned senior internal promotions.
