TRIB3 expands into Russia and Spain
ONLY 12 months after a nationally acclaimed launch in Sheffield, boutique gym TRIB3 is set to go global!
Final stage talks with the private equity sector to raise capital to take the TRIB3 brand to both Russia and Spain - with additional plans for further European expansion - are now under way.
Co-founded by Kevin Yates, Dan Summerson and David Cross and partners - with interiors designed by David’s award winning team at Sheffield multi disciplinary architectural practice Coda Studios - TRIB3 introduced a fresh approach to group fitness programming when it launched its first site in Sheffield’s Ecclesall Road at the start of 2016.
The TRIB3 concept, based around highly intensive group workouts, proved so successful at its launch that it was immediately hailed as one of Britain’s best workouts by the influential Women’s Health magazine.
The High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) work-out is based around treadmills (cardio), resistance (weights) and intensity (heart rate) and sessions can burn up to 1000 calories meaning that members get results fast which can also be tracked through digital partner MyZone.
There are currently three TRIB3 centres open at Ecclesall Road, Sheffield, the acclaimed Krynkl development in Sheffield’s Kelham Island and at The Source in Meadowhall, with sites in Leeds and Manchester to follow in the next few months.
And now the TRIB3 team have confirmed that advanced talks are set to take the brand to the Russian cities of St Petersburg and Moscow and an agreement has also been completed to take TRIB3 into Barcelona and Madrid in Spain within the second quarter of 2017.
“TRIB3 has proved to be a phenomenal success since our launch at the beginning of 2016 and it is a success that simply seems to keep on growing,” said Kevin Yates.
“With over 15 franchisees already signed up to take a TRIB3 our main goal is to secure properties but with David Cross’s property experience and his Coda team behind us, we are well placed as a business to support our operating goal.
“The most exciting development at the moment, however, has to be our European expansion and to take that forward we are looking to bring on board a European Director to specifically spearhead that growth.”
Kevin emphasised the brand’s strength came from its firm South Yorkshire roots, working alongside companies like Sheffield commercial interior design and fit-out specialist Ovo Spaces on rolling out the distinctive TRIB3 look both nationally and internationally.
“The reason for our successful growth is that we are offering clients an experience they will never forget on each and every visit because if we don’t they will not return, just like they will not return to a restaurant that delivers bad service or food,” Kevin explained.
“Our whole strategy is based around individual programmed experiences that will provide something far beyond anything you would find in other gyms.
“It’s not just about luxury – though there is plenty of that – it’s also about the music, the atmosphere and some serious high intensity fitness.”
