WeWork is seeking 100 London startups for its first mentoring programme outside the US

Co-working giant WeWork is inviting applications from London startups to take part in its first WeWork Labs programme outside of the US.

Based out of its London Fields facility in Hackney, the programme will invite successful startups and creatives to take up 100 spaces at a ‘labs-dedicated floor’ where they will benefit from exclusive events and mentorship schemes, as well as access to WeWork’s community of global creatives.

Model on a similar scheme in the US, those selected to take part will be exposed to expertise from luminaries in the design, technology, art and fashion industries, while door-opening opportunities with businesses across London’s ecosystem will help entrepreneurs get their ideas off the ground.

Since it was founded in New York in 2010, WeWork has become one of the world’s most recognisable operators in co-working and flexible workspaces, with a network that has spread across the world.

Joe Gaunt, Managing Director for the United Kingdom at WeWork, commented: “London has long balanced its status as a tech hub, financial centre and enabler of creative industries, with new talent emerging from each of these sectors and every corner of the city.

“The team at WeWork are excited to receive applications and begin building a new cohort of WeWork success stories together.”

Interested businesses and individuals will be selected by WeWork this month before moving into the facility on 1 April.
