Chatham trampoline park hosts classes for Rivermead School
New trampoline park Flip Out, at Chatham Maritime, has partnered with Rivermead School to host trampolining sessions as part of the school’s regular PE curriculum.
Rivermead School in Gillingham have been bringing three separate classes to Flip Out every week since the beginning of term in January.
The classes have proved so popular that the school is now running an after-school trampolining club at Flip Out Chatham.
Mark Nolan, Rivermead’s Head of PE, said:
“Our learners really love trampolining as it’s different and great fun.
“It is also very inclusive, as it doesn’t require a particular level of skill, everyone can jump on a trampoline.
“Essentially it is exercise by stealth! It has proved so popular with our students, that we are now starting an after-school trampolining club at Flip Out!”
Mark McGill, a director of Flip Out Chatham, said:
“Trampolining burns more calories than running or cycling and is low impact. It also improves co-ordination and balance.
“Given the focus of government, local authorities and schools to tackle obesity and promote a healthy active lifestyle, we are delighted to be working with Rivermead School to help them achieve this goal.”
