Sector expansion sees Hexham’s Red Marine become Red Engineering

Hexham firm Red Marine has revealed a new brand identity, becoming Red Engineering this week.

With demand for the firm’s expertise growing beyond its traditional offering to the offshore oil and gas marine sector, the name change suits its presence in renewables and nuclear decommissioning according to company ownership.

The Burn Lane-based company, which employs a total of 20 staff, is crafting a specialty in engineering consultancy and design work, delivering bespoke handling, remote tooling, test rigs and subsea equipment.

Red Engineering will continue to serve the offshore oil and gas sector as it has done since launching in 2008 although the business does plan to further extend operations in other industrial and manufacturing markets.

The new-look firm will also continue to operate from its existing head office in Tynedale House as well as its testing facility at Haugh Lane industrial Estate, which opened in 2015.

Director Joe Orrell said: “It is clear that there are new opportunities opening up beyond traditional marine and offshore industries for added value solutions that save customers time and money.

“Our testing services are also expanding with investment in new equipment that will provide enhanced capabilities. I’m very much looking forward to taking the new brand forward, building on our successful track record and seeing the company grow and flourish.”
