Teesside’s Delta Coaches safeguards 15 jobs with GL acquisition

Teesside-based Delta Coaches has acquired GL Coaches in a move which more than doubles its workforce through the safeguarding of 15 jobs.

Now including accessible vehicles suitable for passengers with mobility issues, Delta’s fleet of 20 coaches is able to provide a broader service to its clients in the niche, executive travel market.

Gary Walton, MD, said: “Having seen an increase in the number of passengers of all ages requiring adapted vehicles, it’s great to be able to provide these services from Teesside to customers nationally and internationally.

“We’re pleased to be developing our portfolio of clients and opportunities for the area with an increased range of transport options - all while maintaining the executive standard our customers have come to rely on.

Delta Coaches is now looking to increase its workforce further by immediately recruiting four members of staff, as well as training and recruiting further team members for seasonal roles from April.

Mr Walton added: “Being able to retain Delta’s team is important to us and we’re pleased to be building the economy with future appointments.”

Chartered accountants and business advisors Anderson Barrowcliff, led by partner James Dale, supported Delta Coaches on the deal.
