South Elmsall construction firm secures £1.3m expansion contract with iForce
Harris CM, the South Elmsall-based construction firm, has won a £1.3m contract with supply chain business, iForce.
The construction firm is set to significantly increase storage space within one of iForce’s existing distribution centre facilities in Corby.
The design and build project will see work starting on site in April 2017, creating more than 107,000 sq ft of storage space across a new two-storey mezzanine structure at the centre.
The site will remain operational throughout the five month project.
The Corby facility, which covers 250,000 sq ft, provides order fulfilment services and processes returns for a number of iForce’s clients including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Paperchase, Greene King and Mayborn Group.
Danny Mulqueen, managing director of Harris, commented: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract, which will further enhance our reputation for carrying out complex projects in live working environments.
“As the work progresses we will continually identify and accommodate the client’s operational requirements, and programme our works around these, in order to maintain an efficient and safe working environment throughout.
“The work will see us produce an extensive two storey structure and once complete, it will significantly enhance the site’s capacity and enable iForce to fully maximise the potential of both its building footprint and the Corby facility as a whole.”
During 2016, iForce handled 85.1 million items on behalf of its clients, through its 10 distribution facilities which are located throughout England.
