Energy Students to tour Europe in Electric Vehicles
Students from the MSc in Energy Management programme at ESCP Europe Business School will join key energy industry figures, international media, alumni and School faculty on a two-week European road trip to support the acceleration of electric-vehicle adoption and a transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future.
A fleet of electric vehicles will transport up to 120 participants across 6,500kms using the latest clean technologies - without compromising on comfort or performance.
The ESCP Europe Electric Vehicle Road Trip (EVRT) runs from 25th April to 10th May, 2017. The tour is a collaboration between the School and Global EVRT, an organisation and movement founded by one of the School’s alumni, Ben Pullen. The first European road trip took place in 2016, visiting four ESCP Europe campuses and seven countries.
This year, the tour will visit five of the School’s six European campuses (London, Berlin, Madrid, Turin and Paris) on its way through 10 European countries and 12 major European cities. Participants will also take part in a series of high-level green mobility conferences and roundtable discussions on the future of electric vehicle technology, infrastructure and adoption, combined with plans to visit Tesla’s factory in Tilburg, Rimac factory in Zagreb, and BMW’s design and innovation centre in Berlin.
Topics to be discussed will include:
- The latest in electric vehicle technologies
- Air quality in European cities
- Discussions on the European transport and mobility revolution
- EV infrastructure and innovation
- Developments and the future of the European EV industry
- Energy efficiency
- Renewables and their key role across the globe
- Climate change
- The energy landscape in Europe
Ben Pullen, ESCP Europe alumnus and founder of Global EVRT says:
“This is a road trip with a difference - we provide information on electric vehicles in a fun and engaging way on the road and at conferences, empowering people to make the right choices about clean transportation, new energy and sustainable living. We aim to showcase new technology, engage communities through excitement and support and test existing infrastructures in the move to a cleaner future. We believe that if you give people the right information, they will make the right choices. The world needs to be made aware of the energy challenges we face and how the adoption of electric vehicle travel can help to meet these challenges.”
Director of ESCP Europe’s London Campus, Professor Simon Mercado, says:
“We are delighted to collaborate with Global EVRT in running our second European EVRT at ESCP Europe. Energy efficiency and innovative technologies are key issues for our Energy Management programmes, and we are proud to support the endeavours of our ambitious and creative alumni.”
The MSc in Energy Management programme is an 18-month Master studied at the School’s London and Paris locations. It incorporates an International Seminar, Master thesis and a period of professional internship.
