Fleet investment fueling turnover growth at Birtley roofing firm
Birtley-based Roofclad Systems has revealed expectations to hit the £5m turnover mark this year, after investing £80k to improve its operations.
Specialists in the design and installation of roofing and cladding systems, the business has invested in new fabrication machinery and equipment as well as six additional vehicles.
The firm believes this has led to greater flexibility, productivity and profitability and, as a result, is anticipating a £500k year on year increase in turnover.
Roofclad was recently appointed to undertake a partial strip and re-sheet of the roof at Morpeth store Robson & Cowan of Scots Gap. Work began on the contract at the start of the month and is expected to be complete by March 2017.
Alex Tilley now manages the firm after his father David, who bought the business in 2014, moved into the role of chairman during the course of 2016.
Alex said: “With the investment we have made in the new fleet of vehicles and additional equipment, we are not at all limited geographically when it comes to picking up new work and the plan is to focus on larger, new sheds and re-sheeting contracts for established names up and down the country in the year ahead.
“We are picking up a lot of work through word of mouth and enjoy a strong reputation for our quality of workmanship.
“We have a healthy order book for 2017 and prospects for the business are looking very good indeed.”
