‘Green for Go’ for Yorks eco-friendly developer

ECO-FRIENDLY HOMES COLLECTION IN NORTH YORKSHIRE SPROUTS A ‘GREEN’ SUCCESS STORY

IT’S “green for go” for a Yorkshire developer after selling half the new homes it is building as part of an eco-friendly scheme in a village near Ripon.

All the properties at Berkeley DeVeer’s flagship £3m site in Melmerby feature air source heat pumps rather than conventional gas or oil.

And, according to the Ripon branch of selling agents, Linley & Simpson, this green dimension has acted as a magnet for the increasing number of homebuyers keen to go back to nature.

Berkeley DeVeer has invested more than £100,000 in bringing this eco-efficiency to Melmerby.

Named Wobeck Meadow to retain the village’s Viking roots, the development features a bespoke collection of 14 homes.

Ranging in price from £240,000 to £475,000, they include six affordable homes to meet the community’s needs, and the first phase is set for completion in the summer.
