£1m rooftop bar will create 100 new jobs on Newcastle’s High Bridge Street
Newcastle’s High Bridge Street is continuing to grow as a bustling leisure hub, as plans to open a new three storey bar and restaurant this Spring have been unveiled.
Danieli Holdings, the operator behind the venue, is investing £1m into the premises, where it will introduce its yolo brand to the city centre.
The Yolo Townhouse, which will be Danieli’s second yolo venture in the region after launching in Ponteland in 2015, will create almost 100 full and part time local jobs.
The site will be made up of a ground floor drinking and dining social space, first floor function area and second floor open-air terrace bar – as well as a third and final floor utilised for catering.
The business will be holding a recruitment open day on Tuesday 28 March at Motel One, directly opposite the venue, where a range of roles from front of house to kitchen staff will be on offer.
High Bridge has quickly risen as one of Newcastle city centre’s most fashionable streets of late, with new bars such as Pleased To Meet You complementing the area’s indie shops, coffee houses and quirky stores.
Yolo Townhouse will add to the street’s appeal, offering food from breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner through to late night drinks.
Nigel Holliday, Danieli Holdings business development director, said: “The brand new yolo Townhouse will be a unique venue here in Newcastle, building on the concept we’ve established out of town and creating an experience for a wide North East demographic.
“We’re looking forward to meeting and bringing on board new faces to be a part of our highly-anticipated launch.”
Neill Winch, Danieli Holdings chief executive, added: “We have been looking for potential locations for a second yolo venue for some time and High Bridge quarter provides the perfect opportunity as a thriving leisure hub made up of a mixture of businesses.
“As a brand, yolo is one we’re keen to continue to roll-out but for now we are incredibly excited and have all hands on deck for the impending plans in Newcastle city centre.”
