Carillion wins £90m DIO contract

The UK Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has awarded a £90m contract to British construction company Carillion.

The Wolverhampton-headquartered business, which has a revenue of £5.2bn and employs 48,500 people worldwide, is tasked with designing and building a communications centre in Cyprus.

Richard Howson, Chief Executive of Carillion plc, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation to design and build this project.”

Construction will start in April 2017, with completion set for the end of January 2019.

Mr Howson added:“We look forward to building on the strong relationship we have with the DIO as we work closely together to deliver this important new facility”.
