Caulmert nets glowing praise from a Premier League club

A North Wales-based engineering, environmental and planning consultancy has netted a glowing testimonial from a Premier League football club.

Caulmert was appointed by Stoke City (Property) Ltd, which manages facilities for Stoke City Football Club, to provide engineering consultancy to upgrade the club’s training ground.

Work included an extension to the gymnasium, the construction of a recovery hydrotherapy room, a security lodge and additional groundsman facilities.

It is the second project Caulmert has undertaken with the Premier League outfit following on from the drainage design associated with reconstructing the first team training pitches at their Clayton Wood training ground.

And Caulmert is certainly man of the match as far as Stoke City Football Club managing director Richard Smith is concerned.

Caulmert provided engineering consultancy to add further cardiovascular facilities in the club’s existing first team gymnasium, as well as supply the grounds staff and security team with purpose-built amenities.

The firm worked closely with Buckingham Pools, which provided two hydrotherapy pools to enhance and aid the players’ post-training recovery.

Caulmert associate director Jonathan Sykes said: “We are pleased to have supported Stoke City FC during the challenging football summer break.

“Our 3D software allowed us to coordinate seamlessly with the design team and Buckingham Pools to avoid disruption and delays, as well as aid the manager to visualise the layout of the proposed gymnasium works.

“We were able to overlay 3D models of the pools and structure to avoid clashes between the structural frame, drainage, pipes and specialist pool equipment”

Since promotion to the Premier League in 2008, Stoke City has become a regular member of the top flight of English football, finishing in the top 10 in the last three seasons. Established in 1863, Stoke City FC are the second oldest professional football club in the world.
