Accountants help football fans score transport to finals
A community-spirited West Yorkshire-based chartered accountants is supporting the league dreams of local ambitious football club Steeton AFC.
Ilkley-based Wintersgill Associates is funding a special coach that will take the club’s loyal fans to the FA Headquarters in Woodlesfed Leeds, at reduced costs, where Steeton will play in the nail-biting semi-final of the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup against Boroughbridge FC.
The game scheduled for 19 April, will see the Taylors Timber Premier Division football team moving one step closer in their bid to win the County Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
Steeton AFC manager, Roy Mason said: “We’re really pleased to have Wintersgill Associates on board as one of club’s sponsors. We have big plans for the club and taking our fans to the semi-finals to cheer the team on will lift our spirits and bring us luck on our way.”
The fan’s coach, hired from Steel Coaches in Addingham, will host Wintersgill Associates branding as it makes its 62-mile return journey through Yorkshire carrying 75 fans from Keighley.
Founder and managing director, Paul Wintersgill, said: “I’m thrilled to be supporting Steeton AFC in its journey up the league table. Football is a passion of mine and I believe fans bring the atmosphere which drives the players, so when I heard about this opportunity I didn’t hesitate to offer help to the club’s loyal supporters.
“At Wintersgill Associates we’re all about helping businesses grow and we want to see this hardworking club grow to realise its dreams of lifting the county cup.”
