Barratt Manchester unveils career support for local youngsters

Barratt Developments is set to support the training and career progression of 28 North West apprentices during 2017, with another eight set to be recruited.

The company’s North West division, which comprises Barratt Manchester and David Wilson Homes North West, revealed the figures ahead of National Apprenticeship Week, which runs from 10th – 16th March.

In total, Barratt Developments is set to recruit a record 128 apprentices and graduate trainees this year. During the last decade, Barratt has helped to kick start careers in construction and building for almost 1,000 young people.

National Apprenticeship Week is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and is a UK-wide event which aims to raise awareness around apprenticeships and the benefits they provide young people and employers alike.

Apprentices at Barratt Developments in the North West work across multiple roles within the business.

Andy George, head of talent management at Barratt Developments plc, said: “We are a big supporter of National Apprenticeship Week. Over the past six years we have employed over 500 apprentices, so they are a big focus for us in our recruitment. Our successful apprentices go on to have amazing careers with us and they play an important part in developing our talent of the future. By learning and providing new skills they help us to meet the future challenges of the housebuilding industry.“

Barratt Developments has homes throughout the North West, suitable for buyers with wide ranging needs and for all budgets.
