New Eurowings route connects Manchester Airport with Austrian ski haven
German airline Eurowings is launching a new route to Austria from Manchester Airport this winter.
The low-cost carrier said it will fly between Manchester and Salzburg twice weekly from December 4, giving North West holidaymakers new access to some of the Alps’ most popular ski resorts.
Eurowings’ network development and airport relations manager, Ivan Orec, said: “Flights on the new route will operate every Monday and Friday starting from December.”
“On this route, with our low fares, we offer our passengers free-of-charge transport of their ski equipment.”
Stephen Turner, Manchester Airport’s commercial director, welcomed Eurowings’ decision to expand its services.
He commented: “We have seen this year that the ski market continues to grow and we’re confident this new route to Salzburg will prove hugely popular with our passengers looking to take advantage of the great ski resorts in the Alps.”
The service will run until March 23 2018, operated with an A320 aircraft.
Eurowings currently flies year round to Cologne, Hamburg and Dusseldorf from Manchester.
