North West footwear brand Footasylum hooks deal with boxing’s Frank Warren

North West footwear brand Footasylum has signed a sponsorship deal with British boxing promoter Frank Warren.

As part of the 12-month agreement, Rochdale-headquartered Footasylum will become the official retail partner of Queensberry Promotions and Box Nation, the boxing subscription TV channel.

Footasylum’s marketing manager, Howard Tattersall, said of the deal: “Our brand is recognised as one of the fasting growing street fashion wear retailers in the land.

“At Footasylum we have our finger on the pulse of the street and sports fashion scene, our association with Frank Warren, Queensbury promotions and Box Nation is further demonstration of our connection with sports, fashion and live sport.”

Founded in 2005, today Footasylum trades across the UK from more than 55 high street stores.

Frank Warren, who has managed ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed, Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan, Dereck Chisora and a number of other successful British boxers, commented: “Following our announcement that our major events are now going to be shown live on BT Sport we have had many approaches from leading retail brands.

“Having met the guys from Footasylum, it is clear that they share our Vision and recognise our respective audiences mirror each other. Footasylum have some exciting plans for our relationship and we look forward to delivering World class shows with them.”

Footasylum’s first sponsored boxing event will take place this Saturday (April 8) at Manchester Arena, during which Olympic gold medalist Nicola Adams OBE make her professional debut.
