Former Lancashire police station becomes veterinary practice

A former police station in Lancashire has been transformed into a veterinary practice.

Ribble Vets launched the new centre on Liverpool Road in Penwortham after securing funding from NatWest.

The company, which has been in business for more than 80 years, operates from facilities in Penwortham, Wesham and Longton.

Ribble Vets’ team includes 15 veterinary surgeons, who work alongside veterinary nurses and admin staff as they provide care services for companion and farm animals.

Ribble Vets practice manager Nicky Birch said: “Our new purpose-built facility is an exciting addition to Ribble Vets in the heart of the Penwortham community.

“We hope to expand the service provision on offer and will also have room to develop the business as needed.”

Nicky continued: “We have been working with NatWest for more than 20 years and have a good relationship with the team. They understand our business goals and support us with funding solutions that fit our needs.”

NatWest relationship director Gary Swift commented: “Ribble Vets has been delivering outstanding care to animals across the region for more than 80 years.

“The new surgery in Penwortham will enable the practice to develop further and we wish the business every success for the future.”
